Legislative Committee
Legislation, Policy, Regulation
A major focus of the Maryland Nurses Association is developed around laws and regulations that affect nurses and the advocacy role that nurses have for patients. The MNA Legislative Committee works to develop the Association's legislative platform and then oversees support of bills that are congruent with the focus of the platform. This very active committee, made up of members of the Association and a representative from each of MNA's Affiliate Organizations works to follow issues that come before the Maryland General Assembly and other regulatory bodies.
The MNA Legislative Committee meets on Mondays, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at MNA Headquarters. You may check the Calendar of Events under the Events tab on the Homepage for the exact dates. The meetings occur on a biweekly basis during the Maryland General Assembly legislative session and monthly there after excluding August. Please RSVP to 410-944-5800 if you plan to attend. If you would like to volunteer to work with the Legislative Committee or have suggestions for the Committee, you may contact Nayna Philipsen, Co-Chair or Becky Colt-Ferguson, Co-Chair.
